W/ro Etete Maru
W/ro (or ‘Ms’) Etete Maru is a CSSG (Community Self-Help Saving Group) member of “Enged” in a town called Alem Gena. After accepting a 2000-birr loan from the Yekokeb Birhan (YB) project, she now makes a living crafting coffee pots (or ‘jebena’) as seen in the photo above.
W/ro Etete Maru purchases raw material from a rural area nearby. Her average spending is around 1000 birr for material purchases and 400 birr for labour.
Maru produces roughly 20 coffee pots per day and charges 20 birr for each pot. From the total sales she makes a net profit of 1000 birr.
