W/ro (or ‘Ms’) Helen is a CSSG (Community Self-Help Saving Group) member of “Tiret Le Edget”. She is currently involved in the coffee and tea trade near the main road of a town called Sebeta.

Amongst several of the CSSG beneficiaries, W/ro Helen’s family has struggled the most. Before accessing the matching fund loan from the Yekokeb Berhan project she and her family could not afford to eat regularly. But after this opportunity she was able to create a business and improve her household living conditions.

W/ro Helen spent 50 birr on material purchases and earns roughly 50 birr profit per day. This allows her to produce a net profit of 1500 birr per month. With this steady earning, she hopes to eventually expand her business into a restaurant.
