ISHDO welcomed Ms.Kara Tipton, Grant Finance and Operations Associate in head office from the Luminous Fund team, during an official visit conducted on June 17, 2026, at 9:00 AM at the ISHDO office. Ms. Kara was accompanied by her colleague Mr. Ermias, Mulugeta, Senior Finance Manager and Hassen Ahmed, country manager joining the visit to gain a broader understanding of ISHDO’s organizational structure, programs, and areas of operation.
The welcoming session brought together ISHDO leadership and technical team members, including Mr. Aklilu Nega, Executive Director of ISHDO; Dr. Afework, Operational Development Director; Dr. Girmachw, Chief of Party for the Family-Focused HIV Prevention, Care, and Treatment Program; Mr. Kerenso, Finance Representative; Mrs.Berket, Health and HIV Technical Manager.
During the engagement, Ms. Kara and ISHDO members discussed key finance-related areas, including existing challenges, operational gaps, and potential concerns affecting financial management and organizational processes. The discussion provided an opportunity to share experiences, identify areas requiring attention, and explore ways to strengthen financial systems and support effective organizational operations.
In addition to the finance-focused discussion, the visit also provided Ms. Kara and Mr. Ermias with an opportunity to learn more about ISHDO’s overall work, including its programs, implementation approaches, achievements, and the systems that support the organization’s mission.
